A fast, native Git panel for the Godot editor: a Git dock next to the Inspector, and a Git Diff panel at the bottom.
What it brings
- Pulls that can't wreck your work. Your uncommitted edits survive a pull: merged into your teammate's version when the lines don't overlap. When they don't, the pull asks first, then lets you resolve the conflicts, and Abort puts everything back exactly as it was. No stash you didn't ask for, no half-switched branches.
- Conflicts resolved in the editor. Conflicted files open in the Git Diff panel: both sides shown against the original, one click for mine, theirs or both, and the result editable before you save it. Import settings merge setting by setting, images and sounds show both versions, and a stash that clashes with newer commits can be restored and resolved the same way.
- Made for Godot projects.
.uidand.importfiles ride along with their file instead of doubling your change list. Open scenes and scripts reload after a pull or branch switch, so saving can't undo it. Import settings andproject.godotshow as settings (input actions as their keys), images and sounds as before and after. - Changes where you work. Changed lines are marked in the script editor as you type, with a click to see or undo them. Changed files are colored in the FileSystem dock.
- Always says what it's doing. Every pull, push and fetch shows progress, can be canceled, and leaves a result or error that stays until you've read it.
- Sign in without a terminal. Private repositories open a browser sign-in once (Git Credential Manager). SSH, hooks, commit signing and Git LFS, file locks included, work as they do in a terminal.
- Native and fast. C++ on libgit2: no git process per click, no polling, and a refresh with 2,000 changed files takes 53 ms.
- Compiled, and provably from its source. Every release is built by GitHub's CI from a tagged commit and signed, so you can check the zip you have came from the public repository.
Plus the everyday things: stage, commit, amend, fetch, pull, push; branches with search and ahead/behind; stash; ignore files; diffs with changed words highlighted; history with search, one file's history, undo last commit, revert and restore.
This is its own panel, not a backend for Godot's built-in version control dock (unlike the official Godot Git Plugin).
Requirements
- Godot 4.7 or newer, on Windows, Linux or macOS.
- No git install needed. The panel brings its own Git (libgit2): staging, committing, branches, history, diffs, stash, and fetching and pulling public repositories all work on their own.
- With git installed, it also signs in to private repositories, and handles SSH, Git LFS, hooks and commit signing, the same way your terminal does.
Exports on Godot 4.7
The plugin is editor-only. The panel offers to add addons/godot_git/* to your export presets' exclude filter in one click; without it, the game logs one harmless error. Automatic from Godot 4.8.

Reviews
Really like this plugin. Makes Git in Godot a lot less of a hassle, especially being able to stage, commit, check diffs, and look through history without having to leave the editor. The diff viewer is really nice too, and overall it just makes the whole Git workflow feel much more convenient.
