Candy Dialogue Creator

Candy Dialogue Creator is the standalone companion GUI for the powerful Candy Dialogue Engine.

One of the goals of Candy Dialogue Engine was to make dialogue writing fast and comfortable.

A custom Graphical User Interface (GUI) was needed to provide all the features to achieve this.

The standalone design (instead of a UI inside the Godot editor) was a deliberate choice for better reliability, capability and team setups - and multi-screen users will appreciate it!

Main Features:

• Click buttons to add lines, then fill in data fields as prompted: no special syntax required.
• Select data from drop-down lists, created by reading your project files.
• Preview portraits/voice/media files on hover.
• Create and insert lines with pre-configured data.
• Insert BBCode tags or custom text in one click.
• Quick dialogue testing: Click "Test" → Alt+Tab to Godot → Run testing scene.
• Export dialogues directly to your project.
• Various features for dialogue translation.

Technical Info

Candy Dialogue Creator is published under the MIT License and is completely free, including for commercial use.

It's provided here as a raw Godot project, for modifying/forking the code, inspecting it for issues, or possibly integrating it into a project of your own.

The raw project format can only be opened in Godot 4.5 or later. Note that this doesn't affect the compatibility of dialogues.

If you just want to create dialogues, you need to compile (export) it.

A screen resolution of at least 1920x1080 is recommended.
