Workspace Navigator automatically swaps the Godot workspace (2D, 3D, Script) to the right tab when opening a scene or script file! Also adds a Middle-Click interaction to scenes in the filesystem to jump straight to their script!

How to Use

1) Install and enable the plugin by downloading this repo, or via the Godot Asset Store.

2) Configure the plugin if necessary (see Configuring for details)

3) Open a scene to jump straight to the 2D or 3D workspace (depending on the root node's type), or middle click a scene in the filesystem to jump straight to its script!

Configuring

Plugin configuration options are located in Project Settings under Addons > Workspace Navigator. The default configuration should work for most use-cases, but see the options below if you want to customize its behaviour:

• Enable Middle Click to Script Shortcut - If enabled (which is the default), middle clicking a scene in the filesystem will open its script in the editor. If disabled, middle clicking will have no effect. If Folder Jump is installed and enabled, this setting also controls the middle clicking behaviour of Jump Buttons.

Limitations

• Middle Clicking a Scene's Jump Button will still open the scene in the editor if the scene does not have a script attached to it. This is because the plugin needs the scene to be active to determine if it has a script attached to it.

Other Plugins

This plugin has full compatibility with my Folder Jump plugin, which adds a "Jump Button" to folders which lets you quickly access the primary file in the directory.

This does NOT mean that your project must be licensed under GPLv3, since the plugin does not write any code into your project that would be exported, nor does your project become a derivative work.
