This is a minimal, ready-to-run Godot 4.3 project that shows how to make an RPG-style typewriter dialogue box. Text appears letter by letter, and every second letter plays a short voice blip. Each speaker uses a different blip, so characters sound different without any recorded voice acting.
How to use it
Open project.godot and press F5. Click or press Space/Enter to finish the current line or go to the next one. All the logic is in one short script (main.gd), so you can copy it into your own project. To give a character a new voice, swap the blip file in the lines array.
What is included
- One scene and one GDScript file. It uses the Compatibility renderer and needs no plugins.
- Three short blip sounds (OGG) under CC0.
License
The code (project.godot, main.gd, main.tscn) is MIT, and the three sounds (blip_1/2/3.ogg) are CC0 1.0. Both are written out in the LICENSE file.
