While working with Godot Engine, I always found it disappointing that volumetric clouds weren’t supported by default. I tried several existing solutions, but they were either too hardware-intensive or fell short in terms of quality.

To solve this, I developed an environment shader aimed at finding the sweet spot between performance and visual fidelity, delivering both volumetric clouds and a physical sky. On my MX450 laptop, it consistently runs at around 40 FPS. With intuitive parameters, you can easily tweak and customize the atmosphere to achieve the exact look you want.

Note: English is not my first language, so some explanations or descriptions in the project might feel rough. I will continue refining them over time.

The performance is truly good compared to other clouds!

Fantastic job on the clouds and the atmosphere, I have been searching for such a performant resolution forever since I couldn't do it on my own! Only problem I have is that meshes / objects on the ground show through the clouds, especially noticable when using terrain. Therefore I can't use it in my project as of now. Will there be around it or is a limitation with the sky shader? :(
