Kominka Modular Home Pack

Build traditional Japanese homes and peaceful garden spaces with a modular 3D asset collection designed for Godot.

Kominka Modular Home Pack combines architectural components, furniture, and everyday objects to help you create interiors, exteriors, and gardens with a consistent visual style. Use the included example scenes as a starting point, or arrange individual assets to create your own spaces.

Modular Building and Decoration

Combine building components to shape your home, then add furniture and small details to bring each room to life. Extend the scene outdoors with garden elements and traditional Japanese objects.

Assets use real-world meter units and placement-friendly origins. Ready-to-use Godot scenes include collision shapes where appropriate, allowing you to drag assets into your project and start arranging them.

Lite Edition — 24 Assets

The free Lite edition provides a selection of architectural components and props for trying the pack and building basic scenes.

Includes:

• 24 assets in GLB format with embedded PBR textures.
• Ready-to-use Godot scenes with collision shapes.
• Example scenes and camera controls.
• Asset manifest and setup instructions.
• MIT license covering all Lite content.

Lite does not include editable Blender files, FBX exports, or the separate 2D render collection.

Full Edition — 58 Assets

The Full edition includes all Lite assets plus additional building, furnishing, and decoration options for more detailed environments.

Garden and everyday-life additions include:

• Garden pond, bridge, rocks, and water basin.
• Shishi-odoshi bamboo water feature.
• Wind chime and noren curtain.
• Kamado cooking stove.
• Firewood and bamboo basket.

The Full edition also includes:

• Editable Blender source files.
• GLB and FBX exports.
• PNG PBR textures.
• Godot scenes with collision shapes.
• Interior, exterior, and garden examples.
• Asset previews and transparent-background 2D renders.
• Documentation and license information.

Materials and Presentation

The pack uses a stylized, realistic approach suitable for game environments. PBR materials include base color, roughness, metallic, and normal maps.

Most textures use 2K resolution, with 1K textures for selected smaller materials. Normal maps are procedurally generated rather than baked from high-poly models. The ambient-occlusion channel is not baked.

Example images include actual Godot renders showing how the assets can be arranged together.

Tested on macOS using the Compatibility renderer with:

Installation

Extract the package and copy its addons folder into your Godot project root. Assets are located at:

res://addons/kominka_modular_home/

Open an included example scene or drag individual asset scenes into your own scene.

For the Full edition’s upload packages, install Godot-Core first, then merge Godot-Garden-Living into the same location, replacing files when prompted. The expansion requires the Core package.

Install either Lite or Full in a project, as both editions use the same addon path.

Notes and Licensing

All assets are static. Water simulation, moving wind chimes, cloth animation, sound effects, fire, and smoke are not included.

Lite content is provided under the MIT license. Full-exclusive assets and Full demo scenes use the included commercial asset license; shared Lite assets retain their MIT license.

Every distribution ZIP is under 1 GB. Additional Full source files and image collections are supplied in separate, standard ZIP archives.
