A Godot 4.8 editor plugin that exports your game and tells the Steam Devkit Management Tool to upload the build to your Steam Deck.
Based on godot-steam-devkit-notifier by tuc0w, rewritten for Godot 4.8: the dock is an EditorDock, the plugin no longer adds an autoload to your game, and it can fetch the title name and export by itself.
Requirements
- Godot 4.8 or newer.
- The Steam Devkit Management Tool (Windows or Linux), running, with your title set up and Auto upload on for it.
- Export templates for your Godot version, and a Windows Desktop or Linux export preset with an export path.
- Steam, for the Start Devkit Client button.
Installation
- Install the addon so it lands in
addons/steam_devkit_notifier/. - Enable it in Project > Project Settings > Plugins.
- Keep it out of your builds: in Project > Export, add
addons/steam_devkit_notifier/*to Resources > Filters to exclude files on each preset.
The Devkit dock opens next to the FileSystem dock.
The dock
- Title Name: the title's name in the Devkit Management Tool. Fetch fills it from the title selected in the tool.
- Auto notify on export: notify the tool after every export of the picked preset.
- Export preset: the Windows or Linux preset that notifies. Defaults to the first one.
- Export with debug: whether Export makes a debug build (on by default) or a release build.
- Send notification: notify the tool now, to upload the last build again.
- Export: export the picked preset to its export path, then notify when auto notify is on.
- Start Devkit Client: open the Devkit Management Tool through Steam.
Settings save on every change, per user, in user://devkit.cfg.
